Thanks to a new partnership between SentrySIS and Tendring Security, local businesses located in the North East Essex district of Tendring now have the latest digital tools to make them more effective in their fight against retail crime.

Launched in February, Counter Crime Partnership (CCP) is the new umbrella organisation where local businesses in the region can join to share information about retail and business crime in the area. 

The new scheme allows retailers and other local businesses to receive and share real time information through the dedicated business crime software solution by SentrySIS.

Members of CCP can access the SentrySIS platform via a cloud based web portal or, for the first time in the UK, using their CCP businesses against crime digital radio handset.

Chris Nriapia from SentrySIS commented and said: “This is great news for local businesses in Tendring and the surrounding areas as they can now collectively help prevent retail crime and anti-social behaviour. We were particularly drawn to the crime partnership’s forward thinking use of technology by installing the SentrySIS software in the actual digital handsets. This means that users can use the digital radio communications network and SentrySIS all in one device.”

The SentrySIS platform is currently being used by crime partnerships and local retailers within the Yorkshire and North East region of the UK with other locations planned for 2019. The new agreement between Tendring Security, SentrySIS and the Counter Crime Partnership will be the first of its kind in Essex. 

Tendring Security already provide an extensive radio network within Tendring working with organisations such as Tendring District Council’s 24 HR CCTV Control Room, Safewatch and a series of retail parks and entertainment venues.

The current radio network scheme will now be incorporated within the new crime partnership with plans of expanding the initiative even further to surrounding areas.
