SentrySIS has this week agreed a long term partnership with Safer Business Network (SBN) to provide the pan-London based crime partnership with its crime management and intelligence gathering software and app.

The SBN will improve the way they tackle business crime and anti-social behaviour, through the adoption of SentrySIS for its newly formed Safer Tottenham BCRP over other suppliers.

The new Safer Tottenham BCRP will work with Tottenham Traders’ Partnership, The Metropolitan Police and Haringey Council to provide businesses in the Bruce Grove and wider Tottenham area with real time crime intelligence. The new scheme will help keep residents safer and support businesses so they can be better protected against crime in the area.

Cllr Gideon Bull, Cabinet Member for Local Investment and Economic Growth, said: “The Safer Tottenham BCRP will be an essential part of modern-day crime control, driving down low-level crime and ASB in the area, and helping police deliver their obligation to prevent and detect low-level crime at a time when they have substantially reduced community policing.”

Cllr Bull continued and said “With the app, this will make it far easier for local businesses to report crime, which will make a big difference in helping us reduce crime and disorder in Tottenham and Bruce Grove.”

Part of the SBN’s role within the scheme is to help gather crime intelligence and disseminate this to members of the business community and other stakeholders through the SentrySIS platform.

Hannah Wadey, Chief Executive Officer for Safer Business Network, said “Business crime is underreported and we can only tackle it effectively if we have a clear picture of the true extent of the problem, and how it impacts our town centres. I am delighted to be partnering with SentrySIS on our latest BCRP as we believe through their system we can provide the best possible service to our business members to support them to reduce crime, violence and ASB.”

Advanced features within SentrySIS make the circulation of crime intelligence secure, quick, GDPR compliant and direct to the businesses who need to receive it. Crime alerts focusing on some of the most prolific, violent and organised criminals within the area will also prove invaluable for the local business community when protecting their stores and the wider community.

The SentrySIS crime intelligence platform is already very popular with other crime partnerships across Scotland, Northern Ireland, Yorkshire, The Midlands and The North East of England.

Chris Nriapia, Director at SentrySIS commented and said: “We are really pleased to be working with Safer Business Network, Haringey Council and the range of community partners who are responsible for the creation of the Safer Tottenham BCRP. Our technology will help businesses in and around the Tottenham area, to be better informed about low level crime and anti-social behaviour as well as the ability to report it”.

Nriapia continued and said “This will have a significant impact on the reduction of business crime in this part of London and will help lower the demand on local community policing. Ultimately, we have no doubt that the partnership will make the area a safer place for everyone."

Safer Tottenham BCRP is managed by the SBN’s Alessandra Valencic who has successfully delivered an award winning BCRP in Lewisham. Alessandra brings a great deal of experience and skills to the partnership, where promising results are already being achieved.

Alessandra Valencic, BCRP Manager, Safer Tottenham said: "The secret of a successful BCRP sits with the business community and their ability to share relevant intelligence and SentrySis will allow them to do so in a secure, easy and organised way. SentrySIS will help in creating a real picture of the issues businesses are experiencing, helping the BCRP, the MPS and the Council to focus on hot spots and most prolific offenders."
