The UK’s most innovative online crime reporting and monitoring software, this week expanded its reach even further by forming a new partnership with the North East’s regional intelligence crime hub, the NERCP.

SentrySIS is now being offered to all retailers across the North East of England as part of a wider offering by the NERCP adding value to their current crime intelligence sharing proposition.

Sarah Bird, Head of the NERCP commented and said, “We are pleased to introduce members to a more up to date and relevant way of sharing crime information safely. Working in partnership with SentrySIS means we can not only bring improved intelligence and information sharing to our members. It also gives us the ability to integrate more effectively with other crime prevention agencies and partners including the police and local authorities, bringing more value to crime prevention in the region.”

Retailers from across the North East can now take advantage of secure intelligence sharing and online crime reporting directly to participating police constabularies. This feature eliminates the need for retail staff to complete paperwork and burn CCTV video to disk for police collection as the SentrySIS software does this process within minutes.

Online crime reporting has already been active in the Darlington area for over 18 months with huge success rates for convictions and efficiency savings for retailers and the Police.

SentrySIS Operational Lead Officer at a police constabulary in the North East using the software said, “SentrySIS is a fantastic system that has allowed retailers and the police to move forward into the digital age. The time saving for retailers allows staff to get back to the shop floor at a far earlier stage to service the needs of customers. SentrySIS has also enabled the police to use the time saved to deploy against the offender at a far earlier stage”.

The system is already well-established and used daily by Business Crime Reduction Partnerships and retailers from across Yorkshire and the Humber region with continuing success.

SentrySIS Director Chris Nriapia commented on the partnership and said, “We’ve always been clear that our strategy is to offer our software to police constabularies, crime reduction partnerships and retailers from across the UK. The NERCP and their network in the North East of England have allowed us to take one step closer to this long term goal. The NERCP have a raft of experience and knowledge within this crime reduction sector, which only complements the SentrySIS software even further and the benefits it will bring to all stakeholders.”

The North East roll-out of the software is currently active across the police force areas, Durham, Cleveland and Northumbria, with a focus on Newcastle, Middlesbrough and the city of Durham. Other major towns and cities in the region will be introduced to SentrySIS over the next six months.
